What sex is Boj?

38 weeks......

Where has all this time gone..??

Really seems like only yesterday that we were doing tests and going to the doctors where Ronnie stopped breathing, and now, suddenly as it seems, we are at 38 weeks and only 14 days till Boj's due date!!!!!

There has been more pain down in my pelvis and hip kinda area, and also lower back, so I'm presuming that is Boj moving down, will get some more info on that tomorrow night when we have our first midwife appointment at the hospital... they are now weekly!! OMG!!!! :-O

Apparently i'm meant to be looking out for this "bloody show" or "mucus plug" or something... even braxton hicks... which I think I have had a few, more just a sudden tensing of my stomach/uterus with me kinda doing a "WTF" moment!! hahaha

Only the other day I wished we could find out now the sex of Boj, BUT... I still like the idea of a surprise, even though it scares me!! lol..... I know that Ronnie loves the idea of a girl, and has said from the beginning that he thought it was a girl... he loves the "daddy's little girl" scenario.

I started off thinking that it was a girl too, and then at about 12 weeks changed over to a boy, and still think its a boy. I would love either, but LOVE the idea of a boy cause then Ronnie's surname continues (as the only boy in the family, we have to keep the name going), although Ronnie's response to this is "even if we have a girl, the surname will still carry on cause she is never getting married" hahahaha.. i just laugh!

I guess its only a matter of time until we find out now... already in my last week of work, and am wondering what I am going to do with myself when I finish and before Boj comes... i'm voting i'll get bored.... BUT, I did win a ticket to Oprah for next Tuesday, so that will keep me occupied for 1 day!! lol...

I'm still pretty small for 38 weeks, most people's reactions are still "where are you hiding the baby", or something to do with the fact that they didn't want to comment cause they weren't sure if we were still pregnant or not. I'm waiting, and joked to Ronnie that the birthing unit may not let us in cause I don't look pregnant!!! hahahaha

And waiting for the reactions when we suddenly have a new born, with people like "where did that come from...?".. hahaha, apparently I am the type of woman that pregnant ladies hate!! hahaha.... I have to say that I have been truly blessed with a great pregnancy! Apart from throwing up in this later stage (only just to my surgery and Boj sitting on my tiny stomach), and having the iron infusion, which isn't really much, I have had a perfect pregnancy!!!

Counting Down....

Wow... can't believe that we are already at 37 weeks - where on earth has all the time gone..??

I have washed all the baby clothes (just as well I got it all done before all this rain), still all neutral... although a few pink / blue, so we have something for when Boj arrives and surprises us with what it is!! :-)
Then we will have to remember to start calling it by its name rather than Boj!! haha
I did some hanging things for the baby's room - with little footprints done, that are easy to just blue-tak to the wall, so we dont need approval for anything.... That is probably going to be the extent of the "nursery" for the mean time.....
And Boj has already become a Dragons fan... (as if Ronnie would let it be any other way)....

The "Daddy's Little Dragon" was the first thing that I got for Ronnie... so has been in the cupboard for a while now! We also have a "Baby Dragon" sign for the car, so its all ready and organised!! hahaha

Ronnie was in charge of putting the pram together. We LOVE our pram... the most light weight of 3-wheelers, skinnier as well (so can fit down aisles and checkouts), and the bassinet can unclip - AWESOME!!!

Had my 34 week ultrasound back on the 10th of November, and Boj was measuring at 2.4kg... (still really have no idea how, just from an ultrasound they can tell you a weight)... but apparently that means that Boj will be about 7 - 8 lbs when born... so average size!

This was the only clear pic that we could get. They did try to get the 3D one, but Boj's head was leaning into my uterus, and had its hand over the other side of its face - cheaky little buggar!! haha
I asked the ultrasound lady about the size of its foot - cause Ronnie always said that it looked huge - thus, how we got this pic! The foot was measuring at 7cm... which she said was normal, and which I later googled and was informed that newborns can have anywhere from 7 - 10cm feet when born!! So may not have big feet like mine!! hahaha
BUT... good news from the ultrasound was that Boj was no longer breech, that it was now head down, bum up, and bent over (feet kicking itself in its head).

This was taken at work, trying to get my 37 week belly shot!! hahaha...

And then Ronnie took this one at home... still can't really tell that its a "Boj bump" I think it more just looks like I'm fat!! hahaha

Had my last doctor's appointment up at the antenatal clinic, and was told that Boj is 3/5th engaged!! So moving in the right direction!!! :-O
And my boobs started to leak the Colostrum yesterday... quite scary, means my body is getting ready... although i'm not really sure if I am!
Can you be ready for something like this?

Scary!!!

Talk about scary!!!! Going to the bathroom on Sunday night, and the toilet paper has blood on it!!!! Not a whole heap, but blood none the less, and with every wipe, it gets redder!!!! I called Ronnie in, and I think we both looked as freaked out as each other!
We called my sister-in-law first, and she said that she thought we should call the Birthing Unit, so I gave the girls a call up there. They advised us to come in... so, 11:30 Sunday night (31st October), we venture up to the hospital, press the button so security can let us in, and go up to the birthing unit, and into an assessment room.............................
They put a monitor on my stomach, so that they could measure Boj's heart beat and movements, and also another one to measure whether my uterus was contracting.
Boj wasn't really happy... kept kicking the strap (we could even hear the noise), but wasn't doing any other movements that they needed to see... So I had to drink some ice water to try and get it moving again... (of course, the water didn't sit right, and I was then throwing up too....), but Boj decided that it would move, so the midwife at least got what she needed. The other strap showed that my uterus was contracting, but as I didn't have any pain, apparently I didn't need to worry about it.
They had to do an internal exam (kinda like a pap-smear) to see if they could tell where the blood was coming from. They even tried to flush with some saline everything out so they could see the blood fresh! They could see blood, and it looked like it was coming from near the cervix, but not from the cervix, which is GOOD!!!
So, all looked good, they didn't think that they would even need to do the blood test (which shows whether the babies blood has started to merge with mine - which apparently happens when its ready to come out)... so the Midwife went off to check with the doctor, and Ronnie and I thought we were good and going home!
Midwife comes back in... "well, Doctor wants us to still do the blood test, and also wants you to stay overnight so we can monitor the bleeding and make sure you are ok". So had to venture home and grab things to take to the hospital... (note to self... need to pack the hospital bag!!!)
Got back to the hospital, and at least they managed to get me a private room in the maternity ward (bit weird being in there with no baby), Ronnie left, and I was stuck having a moment and knowing that i needed to try and go to sleep.
Didn't get much sleep, kept hearing one baby go off, and then it triggered another baby and so forth and so on, and then people would ring their buzzers. I was on "strict" bed rest cause I was considered a "heamoraghe" (or however you spell it), and was only allowed to get out of bed for the loo... they were even going to deliver my breakfast (rather than me having to go and collect it)!!
I finally got to sleep and at 6am, was woken by a nurse coming in to do my BP and temp.... my BP was like 70 / 50, so she didn't like that very well, and decided to test my other arm (yes, apparently you can have a different BP in each arm!!), and that was like 90/70 or something, so still low compared to my normal perfect 120/80. But then I was awake.......
Ronnie wasn't allowed to come in until 10, So I just lay around, trying to get back to sleep... and thought I'd have a shower... was trying to venture out of the room to get a towel and got busted by a nurse!! lol..... she went to get me a towel, but had to put the straps back on my stomach to see how everything was going! This time at least, my BP was normal.
Boj was being stubborn again, kept kicking the strap, and not wanting to move around... but, again after some water, moved enough for them to get their readings, and its heart beat was a lot better than the night before.
The doc came in, and felt everywhere, said that it was normal, and we shouldnt be worried, just that some extra blood vessels form at the later stages of pregnancy, and that one of them had just ruptured, but we needed to keep an eye on any other bleeding to make sure that it isn't placental bleeding and leaking!
So now, just waiting on the blood tests to determine if I am allowed to go home or not...

12 oclock, nothing.....
1 oclock, nothing.....
Visiting hours are meant to finish from 1 - 3, but they let Ronnie stay cause I was in a private room, and they knew that we were just waiting on blood tests to come through..... but they also allowed us out of the ward to go for a walk too!!!
3 oclock, nothing....
4 oclock, nothing...
4:15... i was like "it's not like i dont like you all,  but I just really want to go home...."... midwife "well good, cause I just got your results, negative, so you can go home"... us... "awesome... see-ya".
But was on strict rest for at least the next day!!!!
Problem with resting is that its boring!!! lol....but at least its for a good reason!
And since getting out of hospital, Boj has been kicking away again... just didn't like the straps!! lol.....so we are both good, scared at what happened, but good!

3rd Trimester!!!

Well who would have thought that the time would go SO quickly!! It seems like only yesterday that we found out and were 8 weeks, and now, at 29, nearly 30 weeks, and only 10 to go.. seems CRAZY!!!!

Boj is moving ALL THE TIME now.... kicks / punches and my whole belly moving... you can even literally feel it moving around in there....

I still feel great!! Little tired, and my stomach feels tight (occasionally hurts a little), and my lower back and pelvis sometimes aches, but apart from that (touch wood), i've had a dream pregnancy!!!!!

Did have to have an iron infusion the other week - 4 hours sitting there connected to a drip that just looked like coke going into my vein, but its helping me and Boj, so all worth while!

Our birthing classes start next week, all scary / exciting / anxious.... kinda makes it all more real.

I'm still not really showing that much. When I lay down, you can see my little Boj bump, but when i'm standing (and cause i'm still wearing my 'normal' clothes), it just looks like i ate a bit too much... my excess skin has moved up, so that roll is now visable more (boj is obviously spreading.. but good that the skin is there - think its stopped my belly getting really itchy).

I have my next doctors appointment at the antenatal clinic at the hospital next Tuesday, then the birthing classes on the wednesday and our next ultrasound in a few weeks, so all very exciting times!

Lately i've been trying to think what features Boj will end up with from each of us... I'm hoping for Ronnie's eyes and nose, my hair and smile, and I still think that Boj is going to be tall (although having not got the boj bump yet, may end up with Ronnie's height!! hehehe.....

I still can't believe that we have made a little person... something that will probably be even more profound when Boj is born, but its just completely amazing, that us... our love... can create a little person!!!

Boj Kicking / Punching

I think for me, having not really had any morning sickness, or felt bad (apart from being tired), I called it the 'phantom pregnancy'... even the little butterfly's, or tickles that I use to get, were just kinda cute and funny..... that is, until Boj started to kick and punch!!!!

I first felt Boj on the 5th of August... hopping into bed, just relaxing, and my stomach just went...'poof' (lol... can't find a word to describe it acurately). I put my hand on my belly, and felt it another few times!!!

Ronnie was out, so he missed it :-( and the next time I felt Boj, I called him over, but only got 1 kick/punch (not sure which end... lol)...

BUT... then, Thursday 12th August... in bed, i felt another kick, and grabbed Ronnie's hand..... next second... poof again.... his finger went flying in the air... so only a little one, but he felt it! The look on Ronnie's face was just priceless!! Words can't adequately explain the joy on his face.

On Tuesday 17th August, I felt a HUGE kick.... grabbed Ronnie's hand again... sat there for a minute, and then his whole hand moved!!! Kick/Punch... "Daddy, i'm here"..... was right when we were watching a baby documentary, so Boj must have liked it!

19 Week Ultrasound

29th July 2010

What an exciting day again.... lunch-time ultrasound, and we met Ronnie's mum at the ultrasound clinic.
BUSTING again... dont like this full bladder thing! lol , especially when they know you do, and i reckon press harder with the ultrasound dopler!! lol

P.s. they need to make longer beds for tall people... my feet fall off the end of the bed that I have to go on for the ultrasound!

So we are there, me laying, Ronnie and his mum standing next to the bed. Chris had a prime spot, got to see the tv screen, plus the screen that the person doing the ultrasound sees.

This ultrasound was really just making sure that everything was measuring right, doing the brain, skull, lips, stomach, checking the heart and the veins, the bones.

This is the front on skeleton shot that we got... can so clearly see the eye sockets and the nose/mouth area.

The most cute thing was the spine and the little bum.... seeing the legs, hands, feet...

Ronnie reckons that Boj's feet look huge.. but we asked, and they are all in size with the rest of Boj's body, so still to determine whether it will be a tall or short baby.....

Beat... beat...beat.. beat

There is nothing like the sound of Boj's heart beat... beat... beat.. beat. Very good friends of mine - Sarah & Damo have lent us their dopler, so we can hear Boj whenever we like.

I lay there, as Ronnie puts the headphones on his ears, and with a serious face, moves the dopler aroundto see what he can hear.. generally it's my heart beat first, and then... SMILE :-)

Ronnie's face changes and the grin is amazing when he has found our Boj's heart beat... beat... beat... beat.... then it is my turn to listen.

Boj has been moving though.. the other night it was over near my left side, and last night, over on my right.... but gives us something to hear with while Boj is cooking, and it is So SO amazing!!!
